REUNION TIME! Diane Cook | Scalloped Butterfly Hollow Form Necklace | Sunday, February 1, 2026 | 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (one-hour lunch)

$290.00

I have been using brass impression dies for some time, with a technique that gets the best impression possible without using a hydraulic press.

Be prepared do the same, using the tools I asked you to bring, along with a few others I will have for you in class.

You’ll receive a beautiful brass butterfly die and pusher.  Step One will involve using these tools as you complete a butterfly impression, which will become the top of a shallow hollow form.  Step Two, you’ll move on to the full design/construction of your focal and the making of the multiple layers.  This step will be the part I best describe as ‘‘lifted & layered”.  I lean on this technique often, as I love how it adds dimension to my work.

This necklace is yours, and you can design it to be as simple (as shown in the class photos) or as complex as you’d like.  The choice is yours!

Please note: You most likely will be making the pendant and optional dangle only in class, but once you’re in your home studio you can complete the necklace.  But, if you happen to get to the necklace part of the project, this is where your personality will shine.  I’ve used anywhere from stringing a variety of faceted gemstones paired with Navajo pearls, to purchased sterling silver chain and/or gemstone chains.

BTW…if you do not want to carry a heavy hammer to class, let me know and I can prepare a butterfly for you, and have it ready to use in class.  You can simply go forward with the project, after I demo this part in class.  (Once home you can try out the technique on your own).  Just contact me:  dianecookjewelry@gmail.com for the cost and to put your name on the list.  (You will receive a butterfly impression and the kit).  I would need to hear from you by December 1, 2025 – I won’t be able to honor any requests after that date.
