JOIN NICOLE IN SUNNY ARIZONA THIS FALL!

Spend five days with Nicole Ringgold in an artist-in-residency setting. A limited engagement, you will be one of the lucky ones who gets Nicole all to yourself for five days of instruction (well, you and no more than eleven of your closest Vivi Magoo sisters and brothers!

Students will focus on designing and creating desert habitat-inspired hand-fabricated pieces of their choice such as succulents, cactus flowers, lizards, and more. Demonstrations will include the many techniques that can be used to make this special life come alive in silver, from fusing sterling silver, soldering multiple joints in one piece to reticulation, creating 3-dimensional joints, texturing, basic repoussé and chasing, carving, and texturing. Students will create several different pieces throughout the week.

Previous soldering experience is recommended, and it would serve you well to have experience using a Smith Little Torch.

If students are not familiar with pick soldering, Nicole recommends you practice ahead of time (not a requirement).
