Create a clever clasp with a whole lot of style.
A special thank you to Halstead Jewelry Supply for collaborating on this project with me. They have generously supplied the pendant charms and the fade beads for each student kit. When you see them or shop with them, please thank them for their generosity!
In this inventive metalsmithing class, we’ll explore how to construct a box clasp using two repurposed pendants—one for the front, one for the back—forming a functional and eye-catching “plus” sign centerpiece.
Once your clasp is complete, we’ll bring the whole piece together with vibrant beading to transform it into a dual-purpose beauty that works as both a necklace and a wrap bracelet.
From technical skills to design tricks, this class is full of pluses—form, function, and flexibility all rolled into one.
Whether you’re looking to expand your clasp-making know-how or just love a good design challenge, this class delivers.
Double-duty jewelry? That’s a total PLUS.
