When most people hear “Phoenix in August,” they imagine blistering desert heat.
Well…we have some good news!
The forecast for STUDIO ELEVEN is looking surprisingly pleasant for this time of year, with daytime temperatures expected to hover in the low one hundreds —several degrees cooler than our typical August weather.
And here’s something many first-time Arizona visitors discover…
It’s a dry heat.
Unlike much of the country in the summertime, our desert air has very little humidity. While the thermometer may read 102°, it often feels much more comfortable than an 88° afternoon with heavy humidity. The shade is cooler, mornings and evenings are delightful, and you’ll notice the difference the moment you step outside.
Best of all, you’ll spend nearly all of your day in our cool, air-conditioned classrooms creating, laughing, learning, and making new friends. Your brief walks outdoors – to and from the restaurant for lunch – are brief, and if you’re ready for a little downtime, the resort’s sparkling pools are the perfect place to relax after class.
So pack your favorite summer clothes, comfortable shoes, sunglasses, and perhaps a light sweater for our air-conditioned classrooms.
And, don’t forget your sunscreen. Although the temperatures aren’t soaring, the sun is still strong, and any time out in it could redden your skin. And, please, please, please, remember to stay hydrated. Don’t wait to feel thirsty – thirst and headaches are sure signs you’ve waited too long to drink!

Our classrooms are generally well-controlled for comfort, but everyone feels temperature a little differently — some of you may feel a bit warm, others a touch chilly.
We recommend comfortable, lightweight clothing that you can easily layer throughout the day.
No need to pack anything fancy — We are all about creativity and comfort!
Shorts, jeans, comfy tops, and a lightweight sweater or two will be perfect for class.
Remember, for those of you in our jewelry studios – safety first! Close-toed shoes, no flow-y sleeves, and hair ties are a must.
Less than two short weeks away from seeing you, and we can’t wait!
