Class Description
In this project-based class students will learn to fuse layers of Argentium sheet to create a ring with a pierced canyon fused with filings.
We’ll use burs to carve the smooth areas and add Accent Gold for Silver (a paint-on 24K gold) so it pops with texture and contrast.
Fusing layers of sheet mimics sweat soldering but requires only heat and flux.
This project can be adapted to different skill levels – beginning and advanced students can create either a simple band or more complex design by adding stone settings or carved edges as time permits.
Beginners should have basic experience with the torch, saw and flex-shaft.
