If you would prefer to work in sterling silver, we do encourage you to bring  wire from home .  You can always purchase from SJ Supply who will once again be onsite with us during our retreat. Mario and his team will also take phone orders ahead and have your materials or tools available at our retreat when you arrive.

Class Description

Create a dimensional pendant while building or renewing confidence in essential metalsmithing skills at the bench.

Kim will guide you through the fundamentals of working with a jeweler’s saw, from properly loading and tensioning your saw blade to cutting curved lines and piercing an interior opening.

You’ll add texture and personality to your metal using hammers and stamps, then learn to use a dapping block to transform flat sheet into a beautifully dimensional piece of jewelry.

Along the way, you’ll practice filing and sanding before exploring patina and polishing techniques that bring depth, contrast, and a finished look to your work.

You’ll leave with a handcrafted pendant of your own and a collection of practical metalsmithing skills you can continue to use at the bench long after the workshop is over.
