WE ARE GLAD TO WELCOME…Bette Barnett | Precious Illusions: Painting With Powdered Bronzes on Steel | Friday, February 6, 2026 | 8:30 am until 4:30 pm (1-hour lunch)
$255.00
Discover the bold beauty of bronze fused to steel in this one-day hands-on workshop focused on painting with powdered bronzes.
Building on the techniques developed in the instructor’s popular “Painting with Powdered Metals” class, this version dives into the rich color variations of bronze—from warm coppery hues to golden and silvery tones.
Even the rich color of gold can be mimicked by bronze powder—a big plus considering today’s outrageous price of gold.
You’ll learn how to apply and fuse atomized bronze powders in various formulations to steel to create painterly effects, textured surfaces, and luminous finishes.
Through layering, masking, and surface manipulation, you’ll explore how to treat steel like a canvas while creating striking dimensional effects.
Ideal for jewelers seeking new ways to add color, contrast, and depth to their work.
While the class focuses on technique, students will be provided with patterns and instructions for creating either a cuff or pendant as a learning tool.
