Vivi Magoo students enjoy gatherings and visit the best restaurants in Round Top, enjoying BBQ, pie, and occasionally a glass of wine while attending Art Retreat on the Prairie.
In addition to our wonderful classes, we offer our students the opportunity to attend cocktail hours, meals, and socials. Some events are hosted by us, such as the gathering that kicks off the week of classes. Lunches and dinners are arranged for those who wish to participate and offered at a cost per meal. RSVP and pay for meals on our registration site. Also know we always do our best to accommodate dietary needs.
BREAKFASTS
If you are staying at a nearby B-&-B, most likely you will enjoy a delicious breakfast there before heading over to classes at Henkel Hall. Be sure to check with your innkeeper for schedule and offerings.
LUNCHES
Lunches are catered to Henkel Hall from tasty restaurants in the area so it’s easy for our students to keep working on their beautiful projects before and after lunch. Students sign up and pay for lunches through our registration site. The menus we offer are always thoughtful and delicious and always include desert! Previously catered meals have come from the famous Royer’s Cafe and Royer’s Pie Haven. Students are not required to purchase the catered lunches, and some opt to bring a sack lunch. We invite all to eat together on the grounds of Henkel Square and then, if there’s time, wander around the shops. We want to see everyone enjoying themselves and making new friends!
DINNERS
We have a variety of dinner options available at our retreat. There are several catered dinners where we collect fees, and we also offer dinner outings to nearby restaurants where we simply make the reservation for the group ahead of time and you pay for your dinner directly to the restaurant at the time of the meal. Either way, you can sign up online before you travel to Round Top, so reserve your spot on our registration site. This year, we have added some new and exciting restaurants to the mix, and we can’t wait to share them with you!
GATHERINGS
The evening before classes begin, we kick off the retreat with an informal gathering where we introduce ourselves and start to get to know who will be our partners in crime during the week. Our intent is that our students and instructors can get together and enjoy delightful conversation and each other’s company and always hope everyone can join us for this casual get together. We’ll send a direct email invitation to you as we near the date of our retreat.
