WELCOME TO THE FAMILY! Taylor Saleem | Safe + Secure – exploring and crafting safety pin style brooches | Thursday, February 5, 2026 | 8:00 am until 5:00 pm (one-hour lunch)
$290.00
From the Ancient Egyptians and into the Twenty-first century, the fibula-style brooch has been used as a clasp to fasten garment, typically worn at the right shoulder.
This class will explore how to shape sterling silver wire into a safety-pin style of the brooch, and attaching a small adornment, such as an organic casting.
The second half of the class will pivot slightly to making a stone or cabochon the focus of the brooch, and how to use silver wire to create a decorate clasp mechanism.
NOTE
Taylor thrives on participation and believes the only dumb question is the one that isn’t asked.
