Create a layered wire geometrical ring in your preferred silver, Sterling or Argentium, with us!
*** know the size of the ring band for the ring you are creating ***
Learn to push your skills in this class with multiple soldering operations in a small area.
*Required: Lindstrom Ultra flush or flush cutters, or something VERY similar that results in a cut in a wire that doesn’t leave a little “pinch” on the good end of the wire. I like Lindstrom’s flush cutters 8141 (available through Rio Grande or Stuller)
Learn how to layer wire, create precise mitred corners, and even create volume with wire.
I will be sharing all of my favorite methods of working with wire while avoiding melting or re-flowing previous solder joins.
The end result will be a unique layered wire ring that resembles the patterns in lace.
Meet Jen Surine!
Wielding torches and hammers, Jen cuts and forms little pieces of wire, and bit by bit assembles one piece at a time to create a wearable piece of sculptural jewelry.
Each little wire has been measured, cut, bent, soldered, and polished, making these rings entirely hand fabricated.
She is best known for her “Openwork” style, a design process she has been developing for more than a decade.
Inspired by art deco stained glass designs.
We’re so lucky to have Jen join our incredible team of Vivi Magoo instructors!
