Soft silhouettes, exploding forms.

The world of abstract flora is full of boundless possibility.

Students will spend four days exploring the geometric and architectural elements of scored and folded metal as well as the gentler slopes and curving surfaces of metal moved less in less linear ways.

Demonstrations will be punctuated by work time in which students can stretch their skills and practice new ones.

Emphasis will be on exploration and prototyping as students create a small collection of tangible “reference” samples I both metal and paper.

Day four will culminate with each student producing a final piece they’ve designed and fabricated based on the techniques explored in the previous days.

Final discussion and group sharing will summarily wrap up the experience.

Wouldn’t it be fun if we all stayed at the same hotel?
