FANCIFUL, FLAT LAY MIXED MEDIA COLLAGE ON A BIRCH WOOD PANEL

I don’t know about you, but I love a good flat lay.

Especially one created with vintage wallpaper, bits of old fabric, found ephemera, loose stitching on old linen mixed with any other bits & pieces gathered along the way.

Scavenged from flea markets, antique stores & charity shops around the globe, I’ve been collecting elements of the past that speak to me.

I’ll be sharing my obsession/collection with you all in this workshop!

Together we’ll explore a palette of past, present & future while creating our collaged art pieces.

This workshop will focus on impactful composition, personal symbolism & visual storytelling.

You’ll be learning to layer a variety of mixed media elements, combined with abstract portrait stitching.

We’ll discuss the best glues, learn simple hand stitching techniques & build a wall-worthy piece of art that’s infused with deep meaning.

Additional Class Comments

Everything you need to create your panel assemblage will be provided in your kit or included in the variety of items I provide for embellishments. My hope is that this will be a relaxing, slow stitch, cut + paste kind of day. So if you don’t bring a thing, you’ll have plenty to chose from. The items in the supply list are suggestions for what you can pull from your own collection to personalize your flat lay & pull together a palette you love. I encourage you to use what you have & what you love to make a wall-worthy collage that represents what is near & dear to your heart!
