Will you help us thank our sponsors when you see them? We love the collaboration with and support from each of them.
Thank you, PEPE TOOLS, for your lovely workshop aprons. We know you will take them back to your home studios and get a lot of use out of them. Think of us each time you wear it – we’ll be thinking of you too!
LION PUNCH FORGE for the awesome badge holders. They work well when you’re out shopping at the gem shows too!
THE SILVERSCHMIDT is gifting each of you a handy wire gauge card – one for everyone! Sturdy and long-lasting, they will be a useful tool to keep handy in your home studio. Amy has also published this comprehensive metalsmith book that will come in hand as a personal reference in your home studios. She’ll be selling them at our VIVI MAGOO MARKETPLACE next week – stop by and have a look at them!
HALSTEAD JEWELRY SUPPLIES is located right in our own state of Arizona – how lucky are we! We’ve been friends with Hilary Halstead for many years, and this year we are thankful she sent Sylvie to show off some of their product and how to use it.
And, speaking of Arizona, let’s give a shout out to SJ JEWELRY SUPPLY who year-after-year has moved half their store from Phoenix down to our event at La Paloma so our students and instructors have a place to shop for last minute tools, metals and stones for their class projects. Mario and his family are the best – honest, ethical and wonderful business partners. Please stop by their shop on our Terrace Level of classes, support them, and thank them for their commitment to us over the years.
JUST A FEW MORE THINGS….
If you have day classes followed by evening classes, you may be worried if there will be enough time to eat in between.
Since the hotel underwent an extensive renovation last year, they have really stepped up their game!
There is a new restaurant, La Luz (7am-10pm).
The renovation looks beautiful – and we hope they will have speedy service for those who are short of time between classes
Located next to our main group of classrooms on the Terrace Level
And they have opened a grab-&-go coffee shop, La Vista Caffe (6am-6pm).
It looks like you may be able to grab a quick salad or sandwich in between classes from here.
Located near hotel registration.
We can’t wait to check out Casa 71 Tequila Lounge (noon until 11 pm)
Where the old bar used to be right upstairs from our Terrace Level classes. It looks fun and inviting!
If all of this doesn’t suit your fancy, we suggest Uber eats or some such company where you can order ahead of time,
and they will deliver it when you’re ready to eat.
IN CONCLUSION
WE COULDN’T SIGN OFF FROM THIS LAST EMAIL WITHOUT A HUGE THANKS TO ALL OF YOU – OUR STUDENTS AND INSTRUCTORS – WHO MAKE THIS ALL POSSIBLE!
You’re all amazing artists, creative designers, experienced metalsmiths and best of all – our friends!
We mean that from the bottom of our hearts.
It’s apparent to us you love each other and love the instructors and the classes they teach.
Only the best will do for you, and we work hard to meet your high standards.
Because of you, we curate the best artist-instructors from around the country – globe to be exact – and look for innovators who will push you out of your comfort zone and help you reach new heights in your careers.
Text us your suggestions for any additions to next year’s instructors, projects, or techniques you’d like to see us bring to you
(yes, we are already beginning to plan for next year!)
We hope you will enjoy your time with us next week and return home with lots of new techniques and tips to continue creating beautiful jewelry all year long.
As importantly, we are confident that you will forge friendships this week and stay connected with your dear Vivi Magoo family until you reunite with them next year.
