$110.00

It’s the first day of classes.

You’ve been looking forward to this retreat for months.

And now that you are here, you are READY TO PLAY!

You don’t want to be done by 4:30 with an evening alone in your hotel room!

NO!

This fun relaxed and friendly class is the answer.

So, grab your pals and let’s get to it!

This 3-hour evening class is designed to allow students to have creative freedom.

You get to choose the final design and the function of the piece all while learning some fun techniques, sharing laughs with friends and playing.

You can stretch your imagination with shapes such as hair forks (which make some pretty fancy bookmarks when not holding your hair back), wrist cuffs, neck cuffs, upper arm bands and more!!

We will cover forming, wire wrapping, texturing and finishing. You will for sure walk out of class with at least one finished piece… most likely more!

Note: Due to the nature of the class and the freedom to make different shapes and possibly multiple pieces, I have chosen to have the students supply their own metals and beads. I know so many of you already have a stash of both at home and can save your money for your other class kit fees throughout the week – or even spend some at the gem show! I have listed suggested quantities of  supplies you might need but bring extra just in case. SJ Jewelry will also have wire for sale down the hall, should you need extra.

MATERIALS

  • Either 10 or 12 Gauge Round Wire long enough for your desired projects. 10 gauge will be thicker and 12 gauge a bit thinner. You can choose Sterling Silver, Brass or Copper.
  • To give you an approximation of lengths needed:
    • Neck cuff: 16-20”
    • Wrist cuff: measure your wrist and subtract an inch
    • Hair fork: long thick hair – 10 – 12”, Shorter or thinner hair 8 – 9”
  • Beads. These can be teardrop, rondelle, round, onion… or any other shape you choose. Big or small. Bring a selection if you aren’t sure if they will work.
  • 24 or 26 gauge wire for wrapping. I prefer 24 gauge, but sometimes the bead holes are too small for 24 and you have to down size to 26. Check your wire through your beads to know for sure!!! You will need a lot of this wire for your pieces. An example of length… The hair fork with the turquoise beads used a little less than 30” of 24 gauge wire. So more than you would think.
