Student Supply List
METAL – in an effort to keep costs down, and in the event you may have these metals in your home studio and can bring them with you, we are opting for you to supply your own metal for class this year. If you don’t have the required gauge or amount, SJ Jewelry Supply, the onsite jewelry store at THE DESERT 2025 will stock and carry any of the metals you may need during our event. You can also contact them directly between now and the retreat, purchase directly from them, and they will have what you need at THE DESERT 2025 on the day of your class(es).

- 3/0 blades and wax/lubricant for blades
- Bench pin with c-clamp to attach it to work table
- Bench block with rubber base to deaden sound
- Any basic hammer such as one from Ace (for use with dapping blocks

Because this is not a dedicated jewelry/metals studio, we ask you to bring a lot of tools. Some people will be willing to share, but don’t rely on that if there are certain tools you usually work with.

- Once you have determined what you will need for class, send an email with your request for products and/or tools to SJ Jewelry Supply
- Go to our website, open the class description for the class, scroll down to the section “Student Supplies,” cut and paste the items you want to purchase into an email to Mario.

- When they receive your email, they will send you a return email acknowledging receipt of your request
- In this email, they will instruct you about payment methods
- Once your order is filled, they will send you a second email with confirmation stating your order is complete
- Included in this email, they will give you instructions on how to pick up your orders upon arrival in September!
